Steward Gets Trampled By Horse During Pitch Invasion at Preston-Blackpool Match [VIDEO]

A steward was trampled by a horse Monday night after Preston North End supporters invaded the pitch to celebrate their Lancashire derby 1-0 win against Blackpool in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

Preston grabbed a late winner after Tom Clarke scored at Deepdale in the 87th minute. But after the final whistle blew, hundreds of Preston supporters invaded the pitch to rub the victory in to the away end of Blackpool fans.

Police deployed horses to control the crowds, but unfortunately one of the stewards was trampled after he fell to the ground while trying to push back one of the pitch invaders. The steward was treated by police and medics, and stretchered away to have an x-ray.

While it was a massive win for Preston North End, the Football League and Football Association are bound to investigate the pitch invasion incident, which could result in a fine for the Deepdale club.
