More than 2,500 people attended Sporting Kansas City’s media event this week for the unveiling of Sporting Kansas City’s away uniform for the 2014 MLS season, as well as interviews with the press, and a trophy celebration party where fans had a chance to get their photograph taken with the 2013 MLS Cup.
Rob Heineman, Mr. Sporting Kansas City, was the emcee, and after he displayed the trophy, he let it circulate through the crowd.
The media event also included the announcement of a new captain with the retirement of Jimmy Nielsen. Matt Besler, a native Kansas City boy, took the honors.
