Real Madrid identify abusive fans, suspend one individual

Real Madrid has identified the three individuals who shouted abuse and attacked player’s cars during the early morning hours today.

The club says they plan to pass information to the Spanish National Anti-Violence Commission on two men who were seen on video. Madrid has also identified the other individual seen in the images as a “Real Madrid member”, and the club is beginning the process of having that man expelled.

Following Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona, the players arrived back at Valdebebas in the wee hours of the morning where they were greeted by a handful of supporters who hurled insults and punched players’ cars as they attempted to leave the training facility.

Spanish television cameras showed fans yelling abuse and punching the car of Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, while also confronting Jese and vice-captain Sergio Ramos.

Ramos is overheard asking the disgruntled fans: “Do you really think this is the right attitude?”

The full statement from the club’s official website reads:

Following the incidents that occurred involving three individuals in the early hours of this morning outside Ciudad Real Madrid, Real Madrid C.F. wishes to outline the following:

2 – Details of this member’s identity have been sent to the Club’s Discipline Commission, requesting that it expels the individual from Real Madrid for what is considered a very serious offence.
