Premier League game on NBC breaks million viewers

For the sixth week in a row, a Premier League match on NBC Sports has broken the one million viewer mark.

Premier League matches have broken the 1 million viewer mark for six consecutive weeks across NBC’s networks starting with Liverpool’s match against Chelsea on November 25, which averaged 1.119 million viewers. During the sixth week, it was last Saturday’s Manchester United versus Southampton match that topped one million viewers. An average of 932,000 watched the game on NBC while 73,000 watched the game on Universo for a combined total of 1,005,000 viewers.

United’s game against Southampton, which ended in a nil-nil draw, was aired on the over-the-air NBC network from 12:30pm to 2:30pm ET on Saturday, December 30.

During the past six weeks, peak viewership was reached on December 10 for the Manchester Derby which averaged 1.397 million viewers across NBCSN and Telemundo.
