MLS Weekend Preview – Sept. 10-11

I hear that some English guy is coming back to play for the Galaxy.

David Beckham is indeed nearing a return to health from his ruptured Achilles tendon, but his re-insertion into the Galaxy team sheet isn’t creating quite the buzz as his previous comings and goings in Los Angeles.

And it’s fine with him, apparently.

“It’s a great thing,” Beckham told the New York Times. “No one likes drama.”

OK, so he probably meant that in the same way that I would say “no one likes pizza,” but Beckham’s presence in the lineup – whether or not it happens this weekend – should help the Galaxy in the Western Conference standings.

Real Salt Lake, after a scoreless draw in Seattle on Thursday night, is level on points with the Galaxy in the west and with Columbus for best record overall.
