Liverpool will visit Australia for the first time in their history for a summer pre-season tour, as well as announcing that the club will play in Thailand.
On July 24, Liverpool will play A-League side Melbourne Victory at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of 100,018.
“We know we have a large fan base in Australia and New Zealand and this visit shows our commitment to bringing the club closer to our fans all over the globe, no matter how far away from Anfield they may live,” said Liverpool FC Managing Director Ian Ayre. “We are very much looking forward to playing in Melbourne and giving our supporters a chance to see the team up close.”
Four days after Liverpool plays in Melbourne, the Reds will play a match in Bangkok’s Rajamangala National Stadium on Sunday, July 28.
Liverpool FC are estimated to have more than 14 million followers in Thailand.
