Le Guen appointed Bursaspor coach

Istanbul (AFP) – Frenchman Paul Le Guen was on Thursday officially appointed coach of Turkish top flight club Bursaspor on a two-year deal.

Bursaspor — who last won the Turkish league title in 2010 — finished 15th last season only avoiding relegation by two points.

The 53-year-old Le Guen said he was looking at bringing in “two or three players, why not French”.

“I want to play with an ambitious style,” he said. “I want to keep the ball and make the game.”

The former France international defender led Lyon to three successive Ligue 1 titles from 2003-2005, before coaching Paris Saint-Germain and Scottish side Rangers.

He was most recently in charge of the Oman national team for four years until 2015.
