FA Stands to Lose Up to £26m if England Fail to Reach 2014 World Cup in Brazil: The Daily EPL

England’s destiny is in their own hands in World Cup qualifying. The majority of matches they have remaining are at home, but if the Three Lions do fall and end up in second place in their group, they face the prospect of having to go through the play-offs in order to reach the World Cup next summer. And, as The Telegraph newspaper reports today, the FA stands to lose up to £26 million if England fail to reach the tournament — £10 million of which would come from shirt sales.

If England don’t finish top in Group H, then they probably aren’t good enough to go far in the World Cup 2014 tournament anyway.
