Brazil Trounces Honduras 5-0 In International Friendly In Front of Record Miami Crowd

When is a friendly a misnomer? When it’s Brazil against Honduras, in a “friendly” match in Miami with both teams playing competitive and sometimes combative football.

The match between Brazil and Honduras was an ideal test for both teams. At World Cup 2014, Brazil will come up against tough, physical teams who are dangerous on the counter attack, such as Honduras. Meanwhile, the Central American opponent will face flashy, skillful and attacking sides like Brazil.

For the first 20 minutes, it was an evenly matched game with Honduras looking dangerous with Roger Espinoza bombing down the left wing. But after Brazil opened the scoring with a goal by Bernard in the 23rd minute, after hitting the ball into the roof of the net after a pass from Paulinho, the match swung in favor of the “home” crowd.

Over the course of the remaining 67 plus minutes of the match, Brazil put on a clinic.
