Paul Pogba Renews Contract With Juventus, Say Italian Reports

Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, two of the three major Italian sports newspapers, are reporting that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has agreed to a contract extension with the Seria A giants.

What the media outlets disagree on is the length of the 21-year-old’s contract.

Tuttosport claims Pogba’s deal will stretch until June 2019, while Corriere dello Sport believe the new deal will end the season before (June 2018).

The former product Manchester United’s youth system had been the topic of transfer speculation for most of last season with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and both Manchester clubs believed to be interested in the talented midfielder.

Juventus have apparently ended that speculation and are reported to have signed the France international to an extension that will earn the player £2.5 million a year with a further £800,000 in performance-related bonuses.

Pogba was named 2013’s Golden Boy for the best young player in Europe and has made 63 appearances for Juventus, scoring twelve goals in two seasons.

The France international has scored three goals while making sixteen appearances for his country.
