What Lineup Should the US Field at Wembley?

This is a friendly meant for experimenting. I’d like to win but now knowing the squad and its limitations I think finding out about certain guys may in fact down the road be much more important than chasing a result that is unlikely to come.

A few ideas:

Start Nate Jaqua up top and see if he can hold up play with his size to play off of Freddy Adu who will play a hybrid attacking midfield/withdrawn striker role. Let’s see if Adu’s pace and skill on the ball can create trouble for England’s back four. We know already what Clint Dempsey and Josh Wolff are capable of. They can get a late run out.
Start Maurice Edu in place of Carlos Bocanegra at the back and see if he has the physical stature and skill to keep up. Edu could become an option at the back going forward if he does. Also if healthy give Michael Orozco a late run out to get a feel for the speed of the game at this level.

Let’s determine whether or not Brad Guzan has what it takes to be a reliable goalkeeper in qualifying. Start him at Wembley against one of the world’s most formidable and talented attacking sides.

Give Eddie Johnson the wrong time for when the bus leaves for Wembley. Then EJ gets on the wrong bus, ends up at Victoria Station and is so lost he can’t find his way to Madrid next week. Use this as an excuse to drop him for ever more, sending him to Elba or Bobby Convey land as it is now known.
