Tottenham star Son Heung-Min set for surgery on arm

London (AFP) – Son Heung-Min could miss the start of Tottenham’s pre-season preparations after his club revealed the South Korea forward will have surgery on his fractured arm on Friday.

Son suffered the injury after landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge during South Korea’s World Cup qualifying defeat with Qatar on Tuesday.

Scans showed the 24-year-old sustained a fracture in his right forearm and he is set for an operation which could see him sidelined for at least four weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side return for pre-season training on July 3 before heading for a 10-day tour of America, with the first game on July 22.

Their Premier League opener is at Newcastle on the weekend of August 12-13.
