Real Madrid through to Champions League final

Madrid (AFP) – A first-half Fernando own goal allowed Real Madrid to beat Manchester City 1-0 in their Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday and qualify for the final.

A Gareth Bale shot in the 20th minute at the Santiago Bernabeu deflected in off Fernando and proved the difference in the tie after the first leg last week ended goalless.

In the final, Madrid will face city rivals Atletico, who won their semi-final on away goals against Bayern Munich.

The teams will meet in Milan on May 28 in what will be a repeat of the 2014 final, which Real won 4-1 after extra time.
