Barcelona and Brazil star Neymar suffered a serious injury in the Copa del Rey match today against Getafe, and the player will be out of action for 3-4 weeks, but should be back in time for the UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City in late February.
Neymar injured his ankle in the first half of the match when he fell awkwardly in the penalty area. As you can see from the animated GIF below, his ankle gets caught in the turf and the weight of his body falls on his ankle, twisting it.
Trainers were rushed on to the field to help Neymar, but Brazilian was unable to walk and had to be carried off the pitch for further evaluation. According to Barcelona FC, Neymar has sprained the peroneal tendon in his right ankle, and will undergo additional tests tomorrow.
