Papiss Cisse will wear Newcastle United’s shirt branded with the club’s pay-day loan sponsor after resolving a dispute because of religious concerns.
The Professional Footballers’ Association were called in to help with discussions between the player and the club, with the PFA saying they worked with all parties to reach a “satisfactory settlement.”
The news that Cisse will continue playing for Newcastle United is excellent news for the footballer, club and its fans. Cisse has not played for the team during the pre-season, and has been training in Newcastle while the club was in Portugal on tour.
