Manchester United has released the above video to promote its 2011 summer tour of the United States.
The video stars Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, the Da Silva twins and other Manchester United players combined with archival footage from last summer’s tour of the United States.
Don’t be surprised if this will be Manchester United’s last tour of the United States for several years. As a neutral soccer fan, we’re blessed to have United come here two years in a row. But I wouldn’t be shocked if United decides to travel to Asia each summer for the next few years at least to increase the size of their “football empire” in that part of the world.
That said, Manchester United is currently the most popular Premier League team in the United States with, as the video points out a following of 9 million fans.
