Manchester City Considering United States Tour At End of May, 2013

Manchester City officials are considering a post-season tour of the United States at the end of May after their final match of the season, reports The Daily Star.

City is considering two matches — one in New York and another one in Florida — before they take a break for the summer. After City return from their summer break, they’ll be heading to Asia after agreeing to participate in the Premier League Asia Trophy, scheduled for July in Hong Kong.

Whether the tour will even happen or not, we’ll have to see. But The Daily Star reports that “Mancini’s stars have not been told about the trip and will be stunned to learn of the plans. Most of the Italian’s squad would have been planning to go on family holidays as soon as the season ends.”

As of press time, no Premier League club so far has announced plans to tour the United States this summer. Manchester United is heading to Australia. Liverpool is going back to Asia, as are Chelsea. Arsenal will play in Indonesia this summer. But several other Premier League clubs have yet to announce their summer plans, so there’s still a chance that one or more may play some friendlies this summer in the USA.
