Manchester City Appoint Manuel Pellegrini On 3-Year Deal: It's Official [PHOTOS]

Manchester City have officially confirmed that Manuel Pellegrini is their new manager to replace Roberto Mancini.

The announcement, which was made today, locks Pellegrini down to a three-year contract with the Premier League club.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said:

“Manuel is a hugely experienced and successful manager with a proven track record.

“We have been greatly impressed throughout the selection process by his philosophy, his attitude and his commitment to the long term development of Manchester City. I am delighted that he has joined us.”

Pellegrini has more than 25 years of managerial experience during which time he has led clubs in his native Chile, Ecuador and Argentina to six major trophies, including League titles with LDU Quito and Argentinian sides River Plate and San Lorenzo. His last nine years have been spent in Spain where he has impressed with his management of Villarreal, Real Madrid and most recently Malaga.
