Hugo Lloris Risked Long-Term Health, Says Brain Expert

The controversy regarding Hugo Lloris’s decision to play on for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday despite suffering a concussion after he was accidentally hit by Romelu Lukaku continues to escalate.

An expert from a UK brain injury charity said today that:

“When a player suffers a blow to the head that is severe enough for them to lose consciousness, it is vital they urgently seek appropriate medical attention.

“By continuing to play, the player may have caused greater damage to his brain.”

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have confirmed that Lloris underwent a precautionary CT scan yesterday, and was given the all-clear. He traveled back to London last night.
