After not having an undisputed role under Arne Slot at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has decided to leave Anfield as a free agent. As a result, the Egyptian has attracted interest from several clubs in Europe and even from the MLS. However, he appears to be heading toward the Saudi Pro League. With this, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr reportedly emerge as the frontrunners to secure his signing for the 2026–27 season.

According to Okaz, a well-known Saudi media outlet, Al Nassr’s Jorge Jesus has given his approval to pursue the signing of Mohamed Salah. With this, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team emerges as the frontrunner to secure his arrival. In addition, the head coach would have promised an ideal fit for the Egyptian within the tactical system alongside the veteran Portuguese, in what could become one of the best attacking duos in soccer world.

Despite not being at his best level, Mohamed Salah continues to post strong numbers for Liverpool. In what is considered a “disappointing” season, the Egyptian has still managed to score 12 goals and provide 9 assists across the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and Community Shield. Because of this, his potential move to Al Nassr would represent a significant boost to the team’s attack, helping Cristiano Ronaldo form.

Report: Salah’s arrival to Al Nassr depends on Jorge Jesus future

The potential arrival of Mohamed Salah at Al Nassr could depend on the future of Jorge Jesus. With his contract running until the end of June 2026, extending his deal is a priority for the club. With negotiations still ongoing, the Egyptian’s arrival could be delayed until the Portuguese coach is renewed, as he is the one who claims he can fit him into the team’s playing system, according to Okaz.

Jorge Jesus has managed to transform Al Nassr’s reality, implementing a style of play where high pressing and wing play stand out. Sitting at the top of the Saudi Pro League and reaching the AFC Champions League Two final, the Portuguese coach is one of the most important figures for the team, meaning Salah’s arrival could be pushed to the background for some time.

With Al Hilal and Al Ittihad also pursuing Mohamed Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team could risk missing out on his signing. While they focus on renewing their head coach, their rivals are focused on convincing him with playing time and competitive squads to compete for multiple titles along the way. Therefore, the Egyptian’s future remains uncertain.

Kingsley Coman and Sadio Mane’s presence may affect Salah’s arrival

Since Jorge Jesus took over, Kingsley Coman and Sadio Mané have stepped up their game, establishing as two of Al Nassr’s standout players. The Frenchman has scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists, shining on the right wing. Meanwhile, the Senegalese player has scored 13 goals and provided 8 assists, shining on the left wing. Despite their strong performances, the arrival of Mohamed Salah could overshadow them, creating a problem within the roster.

Without any clear reasons related to poor performance, leaving either Coman or Mané on the bench could create problems. Being a right winger, Salah would force one of them to reduce their playing time, something they may not be willing to accept. Because of this, the Egyptian could end up reshaping the squad composition, which currently remains quite balanced under Jorge Jesus.
