Manchester United announce record annual revenue of £363.2m for the year to June 30.
United won the 2012-13 Premier League title under the last season of Sir Alex Ferguson in charge of the side. Off the pitch, United has been extremely busy in signing lucrative commercial contracts around the globe, bringing on sponsors galore.
Manchester United made a net profit of £146million.
Manchester United’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said:
“We are very proud of our results. Our commercial business continues to be a very powerful engine of growth enabling the team to continue to be successful.
“We won our 20th English League title last season and are delighted to have David Moyes lead our football team into a new and exciting chapter. We look forward to a successful 2013-14, both on and off the pitch.”
Commercial revenues now account for £153m – 42% of the clubs total income. The progress made from commercial revenue can be put down to the vision of the Glazers, Manchester United’s American owners.
