Bernardeschi partners Ronaldo ahead of Dybala for Atletico comeback attempt

Turin (Italy) (AFP) – Cristiano Ronaldo will be joined up front by Federico Bernardeschi and Mario Mandzukic as Juventus fight to come from two goals down and keep their Champions League campaign alive against Atletico Madrid in their last 16, second leg tie in Turin on Tuesday.

Massimiliano Allegri has opted for a 4-4-3 formation with Bernadeschi taking the place of Paulo Dybala, who is starting on the bench.

Leonardo Spinazzola makes his Champions League debut at left-back, replacing suspended Alex Sandro, with Joao Cancelo on the right.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone has chosen a 4-4-2 formation with defender Diego Godin returning from injury while forward Alvaro Morata starts alongside Antoine Griezmann instead of suspended Diego Costa.

Europa League holders Atletico have never won the Champions League, finishing runners-up in 2014 and 2016 to city rivals Real Madrid, Ronaldo’s former club.

They are targeting the final which will be held in their own stadium in Madrid on June 1.

Juventus last won the title in 1996.
