This summer should be exciting as Arsenal face Chelsea, Everton and Orlando across the East Coast of the United States. To be specific, the three games are pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2022/23 season. The Gunners face Premier League opponent Everton in Baltimore and then crosstown rivals Chelsea and MLS side Orlando City in Florida.
Arsenal had previously been scheduled to play in the Florida Cup last summer; however, the tournament was canceled due to positive COVID tests within the squad.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will reportedly begin their preseason schedule with a match against German side FC Nürnberg on July 8. The Gunners will then come to the U.S. for the three aforementioned games against Everton, Chelsea, and Orlando City. There are also rumors of a game to be played at the Emirates Stadium before the start of the Premier League campaign in August. Lastly, the Gunners play their annual Emirates Cup on July 30 in London. In the end, they face Sevilla.

“We’re very pleased to see our pre-season plans taking shape with the announcement of our trip to the United States to take part in the FC Series,” manager Mikel Arteta said. “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen our fans in the US and we’re looking forward to playing in front of them. We’ll be playing some good sides that will provide strong opposition and the training and matchday facilities in Orlando will provide a first-class environment for our preparations for next season.”
Arsenal’s last tour in United States
The north London club last came to the U.S. in 2019, when they played four matches across the country as part of their preseason tuneup. Baltimore and Orlando are different locations, however, compared to their previous two trips to North America. Denver, Carson (California), Charlotte, and Washington D.C. hosted Arsenal games in 2019, while the Gunners played in San Jose and Carson during their 2016 preseason tour.

The upcoming U.S. tour could be the first chance for some fans to see their beloved team live in action. A young team full of potential, this squad is undoubtedly highlighted by Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard. Both youngsters pull the strings in attack and have very exciting futures to look forward to at the club.
Arsenal, through technical director Edu, has also made it very clear that they will target at least one high-profile striker during the summer transfer period. Along with the forward position, the Gunners will most likely also be looking to sign reinforcements in midfield, as well as a fresh fullback. The caliber of players they chose to bring in could very well depend on which European competition they qualify for next season.
Opportunities to see the next big Arsenal star in person
As far as youngsters currently in the youth setup, there are a few new players that Arsenal fans could see live on the Arsenal US summer tour. Charlie Patino is widely regarded as one of the top prospects with the north London team. A central midfielder, the 18-year-old future star has previously been compared to former standout Jack Wilshere. The youngster even scored on his senior debut with the club during an FA Cup victory against Sunderland back in December.
Along with Patino, Arsenal fans may also get to see other future senior team players such as Miguel Azeez, Omari Hutchinson, Salah Oulad M’Hand, and Brooke Norton-Cuffy.
