Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Tipped As Leading Contender for Cardiff City Manager Job

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tipped as the leading contender to replace Malky Mackay as manager of Cardiff City Football Club.

Mackay was sacked today after being forced out of the Welsh club by owner Vincent Tan. But there’s been a lot of speculation among pundits and bookies that Solksjaer is among the top candidates being considered for the Cardiff job.

Sources close to the club revealed earlier this week that Tan was keen on “a big name currently working at another non-British club.”

Solskjaer is currently manager at Norwegian club Molde, but there’s been speculation in the past two weeks that Solskjaer was interested in leaving Scandinavia and managing at a Premier League club. The speculation of his move to West Brom has cooled, with former Real Betis manager Pepe Mel tipped to be the leading contender. But now Cardiff could be the former Manchester United striker’s destination, while Mackay could be heading to West Brom.
