Bielsa's Lille slide to Caen defeat

Paris (AFP) – Marcelo Bielsa suffered a second straight loss as Lille coach on Sunday as his side crashed to a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against Caen.

The Argentine’s tenure began promisingly with an opening 3-0 win over Claudio Ranieri’s Nantes, but Lille then slumped to a chaotic 3-0 loss away to newly-promoted Strasbourg as three different players went in goal.

Lille fell behind after just five minutes against Caen when Damien Da Silva’s header from a corner crept in at the near post.

Ivan Santini forced in a second from close range on 69 minutes after latching onto Ronny Rodelin’s angled header to secure Caen their first points of the campaign — and just a second league victory since February.

Marseille extended their unbeaten league run to 14 matches but were frustrated by Angers in a 1-1 draw at the Stade Velodrome.
