Sportsnet acquires Bundesliga TV rights in Canada

Canadian media company Sportsnet has acquired the rights to broadcast the Bundesliga in Canada for the next 5 years.

In 2013, FOX Sports acquired the 2015-2020 Bundesliga TV rights for the USA and Canada. Since FOX doesn’t have a presence in Canada, FOX Sports decided to sub-license the Canadian rights to Sportsnet, who will launch their coverage of the league in August for seasons 2015/16 through 2019/20.

The agreement includes rights to the German Super Cup.

All matches will be available via Sportsnet World Now, which is their digital streaming product. Select Bundesliga matches will also be shown across SN1 and regional channels, as well as Sportsnet World.

For the first two months of the season, there will be an average of 3-4 Bundesliga games on television per week.

For more information, see Sportsnet’s TV schedule for Bundesliga matches.
