Marouane Fellaini On The Verge Of Serie A Switch to Napoli

Less than a year after making a £27.5 million switch from Everton to Manchester United, Marouane Fellaini is on the verge of a transfer to Napoli.

News of the Belgian international’s exit from Old Trafford has gathered steam in the past few hours and it is believed a deal between the twenty-time champions of England and the Serie A side could be announced within the next 24-48 hours.

What has yet to be determined is whether the switch will be permanent or a loan deal. But the player has met with representatives from Napoli and is pondering a move to the Italian club.

Napoli manager Rafa Benitez is rumored to be a fan of the midfielder’s skills and believes his physicality would be an asset in Serie A.

Word is that Manchester United would prefer to sell the midfielder, even though any sale will likely be made at a sizable loss.

Fellaini joined United for a reported £27.5 million on a transfer deadline day deal last September. But it is understood that the English club would accept any fee in the region of £15 million and still consider it “good business”.

The Belgian midfielder battled injuries and poor form during his first year at Old Trafford; Fellaini didn’t score for the club while only making sixteen appearances in all competitions.
