Portuguese squad will feature most of its top stars, while the German side will be missing several key players due to injury.

This marks Germany’s first appearance in the UEFA Nations League semifinals, and Julian Nagelsmann’s team is eager to reach the final and capture a trophy that could solidify the manager’s project. However, Germany will be without Jamal Musiala, Antonio Rüdiger, Nico Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz, and others as they aim for a spot in the championship match.

The goal is to win the Nations League. We want to perform, deliver results, and win titles. As a group, this is very important to us. Spain showed how valuable this tournament can be when they won it before going on to claim EURO 2024. When I look at our players’ faces, I see motivation and excitement. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere in the stadium,” said Nagelsmann ahead of the match.

Portugal, on the other hand, is aiming to lift their second UEFA Nations League title after winning the inaugural edition in 2018/19. Head coach Roberto Martínez will have nearly his full squad available, with only João Cancelo missing due to injury.

“In internationalsoccer, there aren’t many chances to win trophies—and there’s nothing better than doing so. What matters is that we’re here, and the Final Four is where we belong. This team has shown great resilience over the last two and a half years. Facing nations like Germany, and possibly Spain or France afterward, is the perfect challenge as we prepare for the World Cup,” Martínez said during a press conference.

Germany vs. Portugal will be played on Wednesday, June 4, at the Munich Football Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 PM ET.
