Croatia is another team releasing its full 26-man roster for the World Cup. The surprise team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia features a talented list of players heading into Qatar.
Star midfielder Luka Modric obviously headlines this Croatia team. The Real Madrid maestro has managed to rack up over 150 total appearances for his country. Although now 37, Modric is still one of the more complete midfielders in the world. He will captain his team in Qatar.
croatia features a strong midfield alongside Modric
Along with their captain in the middle of the pitch, Croatia features a very solid range of midfielders. Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic, Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, and Rennes playmaker Lovro Majer are all highly-rated players in midfield.
While midfield is clearly this team’s strong suit, Croatia also has some talent in defense as well. Joško Gvardiol is currently one of the most sought-after young defenders in Europe. The RB Leipzig center back is only 20, but he is a rock at the back of the line. Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa is also a key player as well.
Croatia will compete in Group F of the World Cup alongside Belgium, Canada, and Morocco. They start their tournament against Morocco on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
