World Cup 2022 commentator schedule on Telemundo

Telemundo has an array of commentators and personalities for its World Cup 2022 coverage. The Spanish-language home of the World Cup in the United States is primarily available through the OTA Telemundo channel. However, certain games in the group stage are only accessible via Universo.

Fortunately, Spanish-language coverage is straightforward for those in the United States. All 64 games at the World Cup are available via Peacock Premium. NBC’s paid-streaming platform provides live broadcasts, pre- and post-game coverage and a dedicated 24/7 World Cup channel.

This year, the World Cup has an expanded crew, with talent working as both commentators for games and analysts or hosts on the studio side. Of course, Telemundo’s studio, like other broadcasters at the World Cup, is live from the host nation. Telemundo is live from Souq Waqif Marketplace.

The Telemundo World Cup commentators do not have to travel far from there throughout the tournament. Here is who is calling games during the World Cup in Qatar for Telemundo.

Telemundo World Cup commentators

The lead commentator for Telemundo is the famous Andres Cantor. The broadcaster is among the most experienced in the world of soccer. The six-time Emmy Award winner has been on the call for some of the most recognizable moments in World Cup history.

Qatar 2022 marks 32 years since his famous “gol” call at the 1990 World Cup first rose to prominence. However, this is Cantor’s 12th World Cup in total.

Joining Cantor in Qatar in the commentary booth is Manuel Sol. Sol and Cantor are a common duo, particularly with Telemundo at the World Cup. Their camaraderie shows up in broadcasts. Sol started with Telemundo back in 2013 after a 15-year playing career highlighted by time with Chivas.

Copán Álvarez is a veteran of play-by-play with Telemundo, and he reprises that role in Qatar. Same applies to two-time Emmy winner Sammy Sadovnik. Finally, Jorge Calvo is on frequent calls at the World Cup in Qatar.

On the analysis front, Eduardo Biscayart has four World Cups and a staggering nine Champions League Finals to his name. He fits in nicely for what is already an established and proven crew of commentators for Telemundo at the World Cup. Other analyst names include Uruguay legend and 2010 Golden Boot winner Diego Forlan. Another goal-scorer from that same tournament, Argentina Maxi Rodriguez, is also under the Telemundo umbrella of names.

Plus, Telemundo is bringing along the likes of Diana Rincon, Amelia Valverde and Natalia Astrain as in-game analysts.

Pregame coverage for each game starts one hour in advance. All games are also available via Peacock Premium.
