Who won the winter transfer window according to Football Manager

With the Winter transfer window now shut we’re left pondering who has done the best business. January is a notoriously tough month to find and buy players but 2020 has proven prudent for many with an array of young talent earning interest from Europes elite. Today FootballManagerStory.com analyse the best wonderkids to land a big Winter move according to Football Manager 2020.

Erling Haaland – 19 years old – Joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg

Arguably the most popular wonderkid in FM 2020, Haaland’s move to Borussia Dortmund will break many hearts. Fast, dynamic, hard working and an all-round finisher Haaland should light up Bundesliga, an environment many prospects have flourished through in recent years. After scoring 5 goals in his first 60 minutes of play the Yellow Army are right to feel optimistic about their new arrival.

Dani Olmo – 21 years old – Joined RB Leipzig from Dinamo

Olmo caught the eye while playing Champions League Football for Croatian side, Dinamo. An elegant, technically gifted attacking midfielder Olmo can provide and score. Available for £21 million on Football Manager 2020 many fans will be devastated by this move, which may cement Red Bull Leipzig’s Bundesliga title challenge.

Sander Berge – 21 years old – Joined Sheffield United from KRC Genk

For me the surprise of the Winter transfer window. Many thought Sander Berge had earnt a big move but few would have guessed the destination. Chris Wilder has done an exceptional job at Sheffield United and Sander could be his biggest success story for the long term. An all-round midfielder, Berge can break up play then start the attack with his creativity and eye for a pass.

Exequiel Palacios – 21 years old – Joined Leverkusen from River Plate

Ask any Football Manager fan about Exequiel Palacios and prepare for tails of a midfield playmaker, costing £6 million, who developed into a club captain and world class player. Unfortunately, the bargain buy of FM20 is lost but our loss is Leverkusen’s gain.

The Bundesliga is jam packed with wonderkids and this Winter transfer window has only furthered that claim. While gamers around the World mourn these transfers, it is great to see the January transfer window come back to life.
