Korean League

South Korean K League now streaming globally for free

South Korea’s professional K League has partnered with Sportradar to live stream matches from anywhere in the world. The newly created website, tv.kleague.com, allows users from any country outside of South Korea to watch full games, highlights, and interviews from both K League 1 and K League 2.

“Sportradar is always trying to promote K League to more people and increase their fan base,” claimed the company. “This season will be a valuable opportunity to increase fans’ experience by releasing the K League OTT platform.”

The over-the-top streaming service will be totally free for the time being. As of now, the website is the only place to currently catch full K League content; however, mobile and smart TV apps will be implemented in the near future.

Sportradar, a European sports data corporation, has also previously collaborated with American competitions such as the NBA, NFL, NHL, and NASCAR. The innovative company does not, however, solely stick to statistics and streaming platforms.

Sportradar also partners with sports betting websites such as Bet365, Ladbrokes, and Paddy Power to help provide odds for thousands of games in multiple sporting events. Not only do they partner with these betting companies, but Sportradar also created a system to help detect betting irregularities such as match fixing.

Luckily for new fans of K League, or just people wanting to watch as much soccer as possible, the Korean league is at the beginning of the 2021 campaign. Founded in 1983, Korea’s top soccer league consists of 12 teams each season, with two potential spots for relegation/promotion.

While Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors has been the most successful club in the league’s history, especially winning the last four consecutive titles, it is not necessarily a given that one specific club will take home the championship every year. In fact, six different teams have at least four titles in the league’s history. Visit tv.kleague.com to start streaming now.
