Lamine Yamal’s meteoric rise in European soccer, capped by a breakout 2024–25 campaign with FC Barcelona and Spain, has sent his market value skyrocketing. At just 17 years old, he now tops the global transfer value rankings—surpassing Real Madrid stars Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, who also feature in the top 10.

The Centre International d’Étude du Sport (CIES), an independent research organization based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, compiled the list. Its Football Observatory—a department dedicated to statistical analysis of the game—released its latest findings, revealing the most valuable players heading into the 2025 summer window.

Yamal sits at No. 1 with an estimated transfer value of €402.3 million, according to CIES methodology. His record-setting valuation is driven by standout performances, his age, and his recent contract extension with Barcelona, which runs until 2031.

Mbappe and Vinicius outside the top 3

Despite Kylian Mbappe claiming the 2024–25 Golden Boot and Vinicius Junior winning FIFA’s The Best award, neither player cracked the top three. Mbappe, who recently joined Real Madrid, ranks fourth at €192.5 million—making him the oldest player in the top 10 at 26. Vinicius, also of Madrid, ranks seventh at €130.4 million.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland comes in second with a value of €239.6 million, while Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham follows closely behind at €233.8 million. In addition to Mbappe and Bellingham, Vinicius is edged out by Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala (€154.8M) and Barcelona’s Pedri (€143.7M).
