Everton today announced that it has scheduled a friendly against Major League Soccer team Philadelphia Union for July 20, 2011 at PPL Park.
The preseason friendly against Philadelphia is the second match that has been announced for Everton’s summer tour of the United States. Everton will also play DC United on July 23. More dates are scheduled to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Philadelphia Union is a fantastic Club and I’m really looking forward to playing against them,” said Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard. “Nick Sakiewicz brought me through the ranks when I was younger, I’m friends with members of their coaching staff and one of my best friends, Danny Califf, plays for them.”
Individual tickets ranging in price from $25 for Supporters tickets to $50 for Midfield tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 9. Groups of 15 or more will receive a $5 discount per ticket and also have the option of creating a group combo pack that allows them to pair the Everton match with one regular season Union match for a $10 discounted ticket for both games.
Everton is the fifth Premier League club who will be touring the United States this summer. Joining Everton Stateside will be Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers.
Meanwhile, Sporting KC has announced ticket details for their July 20 friendly against Newcastle United.
