Xabi Alonso didn’t take more than two minutes to capture the hearts of Real Madrid fans during his official unveiling as the club’s new head coach. Speaking without notes, the former midfield legend delivered a confident, well-structured speech that left nothing unsaid.

He thanked Florentino Pérez for his trust, his family for their constant support, and naturally paid tribute to Carlo Ancelotti, crediting him as a key influence behind his return to the club.

He spoke with ambition and clarity about the road ahead, making it clear that he already has a strong vision for the new project.

“We have a great team, fantastic players, a squad with a strong present,” Alonso said. “I have many reasons to come here full of energy and excitement. We want to achieve big things—things worthy of Real Madrid, just like the ones already here.”

“I want people to look at our team and say, ‘This is the team I like watching.’ I want the fans to come to the stadium and enjoy. If we can spark that feeling, we’ll be unstoppable. We truly believe we can do beautiful things.”

“Without a doubt, this is a very special day—one I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” Alonso said. “This is my home. I’ve been away for a few years, but my bond with Madrid has never faded.
