Step by step, Jaime Lozano’s Pachuca is laying the foundation for something big. With the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon, the Mexican side is beginning to shape a roster that could turn heads on the international stage. Pachuca already boasts a high-caliber attacking trio featuring Dutch winger Oussama Idrissi, Venezuelan striker Salomón Rondón, and Brazilian forward John Kennedy. Now, the club’s management is reportedly looking to reinforce the midfield with a player who brings both experience and leadership.

According to a report from transfer specialist César Luis Merlo via Súper Deportivo, Pachuca president Armando Martínez has officially submitted an offer to Colo-Colo, seeking to acquire Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal on a short-term deal specifically for the Club World Cup.

“The offer is already on the table,” writes Merlo, “but there’s been no response yet from the Chilean club, which would consider sending him out on loan for one month.”

If the deal goes through, Vidal would be closing out his second stint with Colo-Colo, a club where he began his professional career and recently returned to contribute to a new generation. During this latest spell with the Cacique, the veteran midfielder tallied 48 appearances, scored 10 goals, and provided three assists, helping the team win two domestic titles—the Chilean Primera División and the Supercopa de Chile.

The addition of “El King” would be a major statement by Pachuca ahead of the tournament. Vidal’s charisma, winning mentality, and international pedigree could bring both on-field presence and off-field leadership to a team that’s aiming to make a splash globally. His résumé includes successful stints in Europe with Juventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Inter Milan, as well as 142 caps with the Chilean national team.

Pachuca’s interest highlights the club’s ambition to go beyond the Liga MX and compete against the world’s elite. With the Club World Cup expanding and gaining more visibility, strategic short-term signings like this could offer a competitive edge and global attention.

While Colo-Colo hasn’t made a final decision, the coming days will be crucial in determining whether Arturo Vidal joins the Tuzos in their quest for international glory.
