Marcus Rashford’s arrival at FC Barcelona sparked excitement among fans, but the English forward might have to wait before making his official debut. Despite joining on loan from Manchester United, Rashford has yet to be registered in LaLiga.

The issue stems from Barça’s ongoing salary cap constraints, which have delayed the official registration of multiple players, including goalkeepers Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny.

According to LaLiga regulations, clubs must comply with strict financial fair play rules to register new signings. While Rashford has been training with the squad and participating in the preseason tour in South Korea, he remains ineligible to play until the club resolves the situation with the league.

Rashford: “I’m not worried, the club will handle it”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his status, Rashford remains calm. Speaking to reporters after training at the National Football Center in Paju, South Korea, he downplayed any concerns about his registration.

I’m not worried. It’s something the club has to handle, and I trust they will,” Rashford said. “I’m focused on training and being ready for the start of the competition.”

Rashford, who arrived in Barcelona on a one-season loan deal, admitted he’s embracing the challenge of playing in LaLiga and wearing the blaugrana shirt.

Living in the moment and aiming for Champions League glory

Although many are already speculating about a potential long-term stay in Barcelona, the 26-year-old forward made it clear he’s taking things one step at a time.

I want to enjoy the moment and give everything for the team. I’m not thinking beyond this season,” he said.

During the early weeks of training, Rashford has been impressed by the quality and intensity of his new teammates. “I already knew before coming here that there were incredible players, but seeing it up close has been another level.”

Looking ahead, Rashford isn’t shy about the club’s ambitions. “Of course, winning the Champions League is the dream. Last season was a strong campaign, but we’ll try to improve on it by winning the UCL,” he concluded. For now, fans will have to wait and see when Rashford’s name will officially appear on LaLiga’s registered player list.
