Love United !
what a lovely contribution from the currently second placed republic of mancunia
http://mancuniamerchandise.spreadshirt.co.uk/without-killing-anyone-I5339742
sickening.
rom best by miles
Comparing ROM to all the others is like comparing sharone stone to a kidney stone.
REPUBLIK OF MANCUNIA – the best blog, for the best team
I’m not sure which of the two Stones I’d rather not have….
Well they say a Rolling stone gathers no moss. So a roll with Sharon Stone wouldn’t attract Kate Moss. By definition then I would prefer a kidney stone. I’d rather shaft a miserable imaciated supermodel than a porky 80’s one hit wonder. However I did vote for RoM as Scott is top dog when it comes to footy blog.
ROM The Best Blog ever! The Best team Ever!!!
the best Arsenal blog, 7amkickoff, isnt listed.
Nicc, sorry, I’ve never heard of 7amkickoff, but I’ve added it to my RSS reader and will consider it for next year’s awards.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
ROM Best bog 🙂
best Team 🙂
The whole place is conquered by ROM. The best copy/paste blog.
Hear hear, it truly is the Republik Of Copy And Paste
Scott The Red deserves this accolade, though I believe a certain Giles Oakley should also be given some credit here for enriching ROM with some fantastically well written and meticulously constructed pieces that often appear on the site.
Spot on mate.
the only reason rom has such a high percentage is cause they’ve posted this link on their blog, lets see what happens when the rest do the same especially arseblog…
then why dont u did that morons??
It is always good to insult someone and butcher the English language.
It really makes your point for you. Thanks.
+1
Arseblog is different gravy
Arseblog is the dogs bollocks!!… and Shawcross is a self-fingering-caaaaannnnnnttt!!
FWIW, 7500 to Holte has done a great job this year for AV fans.
You have to love ROM fans.
The site that goes dark whenever United loses….yet posts 5 articles the night of every victory. Wonder why?
Also, why is it they spend half their time telling others to stop crying about the ref after United wins yet writes conspiracy theory stories about refs after losses?
The stupidity and hypocrisy at the site is HILARIOUS
ROM, is certainly the best and brightest United blog listed, although Red Rants provides great fron line articles. There are so many great United forums, like Truly Reds,United Rant,Busby Way and the new and up coming RedFlagFlyingHigh.
Arse blog always wins it though, do they not…….Same old Arsenal, always cheating.lol
RedScot, you legend! He’s right you know, there are loads of other great United blogs out there, United Rant is a particular favourite of mine. And I would say Truly Reds as well…….
ROM is terrible. As much as team blogs are inherently bias, that one takes the cake. Fails at any attempt of objectivity. Arseblogger is funny, insightful, and at least can write critical and insightful posts when they’re called for. ROM simply falls back on blaming refs, posting old youtube clips from seasons ago referring to incidents where United supposedly got hard done by as if they have some relevance today!
Not that I am going to debate the merits of Rom, over Arseblogger, as I have never viewed it, you seem to know quite a lot about ROM though?
For someone who does not appreciate its content, hypocrisy springs to mind?.
PS Enjoy watching United on Wedensday eh, march into the Champions league final,do you no this situation, a Champions league final, or even a cup in the last 6 years.Ohh so bitter Arsenal. lol.
Tooddle pip, Dear.
Erm….. Arsenal have been in a UCL final. They lost to Barca, sound familia? Only lost to them once though!
Though I’d comment, don’t want you looking silly.
RedScot – I did used to enjoy reading RoM a while back – even as a non-United fan – but I feel its become worse for the reasons I’ve just mentioned. If United happen to lose or draw it seems to be always the fault of the ref or the opposition ‘cheating’ but rarely the team. Tough love, every team has to deal with that. I’m not saying write from an non-United fan pov but some balance would go some way to making me enjoy it more.
Completely agree – Blogs are always going to be biased and written in a humourous way, however Arseblog can at least talk about the shortcomings of the team and provide an excellent analysis of a match/the team/etc. RoM is an entertaining read sure, however it is so incredibly biased and centered around how Man U are cheated so regularly, that it is embarrassing. Also, the regularity that he writes entire articles purely to mock Man City/Arsenal is just petty and unnecessary. Any blog writer could focus hours on writing whole posts mocking their rivals, yet no other respected blogger seems so intent on writing about other teams to such an extent, pointing out every shortcoming of the team/players/manager. Even his response here is ridiculous – isn’t this thread about which blog is best?
A good blog sure, but not a patch on Arseblog which ticks all the required boxes a decent football blog should, and more. Far and away the best around.
ragequit obviously doesn’t read rom. look at the write up on the arsenal game. doesn’t even mention the pen owen should have had. can’t fans talk about the blogs they do like and why rather than bad mouthin others with lies?? seems very petty.
rom is the first site I go to every day. the match reactions are excellent, the stats are brilliant, the opinion pieces are really heart felt and there’s also the added bonus of giles oakley, who writes very detailed articles from the view of a fan from the 50s. as for biased, of course it is, it’s a United blog. if you don’t want to read a biased United view.. don’t read a United blog.
TomP – I did and its blatantly inaccurate. Talking about Arsenal only having ‘one chance’ which is ridiculous to anyone who watched the match. Ignores Vidic’s handball – why was that not important?
I have to nominate 7 Cantonas. Recently burst into the scene, and is gradually becoming a flagship for Manchester United coverage and opinion.
EOTK is quality! read his stuff everyday and never get bored. LFC til i die <3
You'll Never Walk Alone
LOVE ROM<, LOVE UNITED
Has to be Empire Of The Kop 😉
Arseblog 4 eva
man u forever…
Empire of the Kop is the best blog of the best team in the world………beware republik of manure!!! wtf your name is 😛
The Arsenal vote will be split, we should be using AV rather than FPTP for this! 🙂
By miles ROM is the best. I say a big,big thank you to Scott the Red for his good work & dedication to this blog and to our beloved MANCHESTER UNITED!
Empireofthekop.. A legend already!
It has to be EOTK. ROM is just cut and paste from other sites.
Apart from the “we hate Liverpool/scousers” blogs of which there are thousands.
In fact it should be called Republik of not Liverpool. #justsaying.
has to be EOTK , but i am biased and not qualified to comment on other clubs blogs coz i dont go on them
lol for people who hate ROM you guys seem to know alot. if you want an unbiased opinion read an indepedent blog for goodness sake! love ROM love MAN UNITED!
Viva La Republik of Mancunia…Scot owns!
Has a way of making me keep the faith when I’m dreading the worst and for joining in the jubilation when things are looking up.
Always empireofthekop!!!
Surely this poll won’t result in a winner that is truly considered “best” but will merely show which club has the most fans reading epl talk. (as will most of the player and manager polls as well)
Liam, quite the opposite. The EPL Awards are promoted across the Internet, so we get a cross-section of many different types of supporters and not just the most fans reading EPL Talk.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Ahh, I underestimated your reach, fair Gaffer. My apologies. I still stand by my assertion that this vote in particular will yield the most one-eyed results, due simply to the nature of the topic – perhaps I’m a bit cynical/jaded based on yesterday’s perusal of most of the poll tallies.
There’s still almost three weeks to go before voting ends, so the tallies will change over time. Last year, we had over 30,000 votes. The majority of people still haven’t voted yet, so there’s still a lot to play for! 😉
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Good lord, 30,000. Alright, I’ll keep my cynicism at bay for now but I’m counting on the other 29,999 to restore my faith in humanity. Can’t have these pages turn into more mindless Manc member-measuring.
(hopefully the alliteration goes someway to alleviating the inherent bitter tone of that post)
Empire Of The Kop yang terbaik dari A sampai Z! i’m from indonesia and i just say “Empire Of The Kop is the best from A to Z” with bahasa. keep your best EOTK!
Empireofthekop !! Best blog and still the best team !!
Surely Empireofthekop and LFC !!
EOTK surely the best!!
Kamu tidak akan pernah berjalan sendirian
(YNWA in Indonesian)
I love Empire of the Kop
If u’ve been seeking the truth about informations u can find it @ Empire Of The Kop
Empire of the kop.. The only one one.. As much as liverpool..
Greetings from indonesia
Empire of the Kop is the best, because it’d an LFC blog.
Also, I note for a blog that has got so many votes (empire of the kop), it seems that the posts on the actual blog don’t attract much discussion. Also, it jumped a massive amount in one day….rigged?
Ragequit, Empire Of The Kop have a strong community of followers who are getting out the vote. No rigging at all.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
ragequit……seriously i know you are full of rage…..and i seriously hope u quit…..
Arseblog by far the best. Informative, hilarious, and tells it how it is. Hats off to Mr Blogs.
ROM is great for the weekends. Where else can you get your dose of morons when Jeremy Kyle isn’t on?
Has to be Empire of The Kop. Greetings from Indonesia! YNWA
EOTK for sure. Loving It
its great how all the liverfools fans cant speak / write english properly, are there any kopites left in loserpool??
ROM, ROM, ROM, ROM, ROM, ROM, ROM, ROM
we can go back to history why people around the world must/encouraged to use English. But I doubt it is appropriate for this forum. beside how sad it is already talking about proper English when you added LOL ROFL etc to the dictionary and slangs more likely replacing the old languange.
cheers from a non-English speaking country
arse
Gaffer…for the thinking fan, Untold Arsenal is really in a league of its own. But it ain’t even listed???
Never heard of the blog, but I’ll check it out.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
arseblog is uncomparably the best. little dutch is the man!!!!
VOTE FOR EOTK .
Manchester scum(?)
Manure(?)
“They say Empire of the Kop is a matter of life and death – but it’s more important than that”
Bill Shankly (would have said that alive)
ArseBlog! fantastic for a decade. Gritty,to the point, funny, a class read throughout.
If your anArsenal fan and not reading it,as you an Arsenal fan?
EOTK for sure.
im from malaysia, and never heard any mancs here surfing ROM..
YNWA
EmpireOfTheKop simply the best..
Kamu tak akan pernah bejalan sendirian (YNWA in bahasa)
ROM is remarkably humourless yet unintentionally hilarious in its delusional sense of entitlement, pettiness, and inability to brook even the mildest of criticisms.
The rose tinted view of ROM readers is astounding. Considering your team sets the bar for cheating, I find it amusing that you claim the same when you lose. PATHETIC.
EOTK are the best.
The best blog by a country mile is Arseblog.
Indubitably Arseblog – almost a decade now of intelligence, humour, and common sense…daily.
Arseblog is the Blog Father..
go take a look .. http://arseblog.com/
arseblog all the way great football blog for the gunners
Who has actually listened to all of these to compare. Why would you listen to a bunch of fans of a club you don’t like. Bit stupid – the winner will be the ‘best’/most popular podcast of the best supported club with the least competition from same club podcasts, no?
Not always Clive. The Spurs Show won a couple of years ago (see http://epltalk.com/2009-best-epl-club-podcast/). I would argue that Arsenal has more supporters than Spurs fans worldwide.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Still no answer from you about why you allow Republik Of Mancunia to participate for the reasons given?
I personally don’t like what they’ve done with those shirts, but I’m not going to ban ROM for a T-shirt no matter how disgusting the shirt slogan is.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Considering ROM profit off the dead of Heysel it says what the blog, the web site and Scott The Red are truly like.
A website that sells vile merc like this http://mancuniamerchandise.spreadshirt.co.uk/without-killing-anyone-I5339742
Shouldn’t be allowed to participate.
They are even selling “Without Killing Anyone” outfits for babies, disgusting.
Being going for a good few years that has now Frank
As a non-arsenal supporter, I have to say Arseblog is the best. The awards it has got in the past should stand to it.
But from a LFC fans point of view This Is Anfield and EOTK are very good. Tomkins is also if your stats kind of guy.
Arseblog is kickin arse today!!.. and so it should!
Why Arseblog is awesome:
– 1- The first ever blog to write something from.
– 2- The world’s most commented blog
– 2- Arseblogger has amazing talent in writing, communication and analysis.
– 3- Arseblog doesn’t talk about what’s going on other teams’ yards. He focuses the one and only Arsenal.
– 4- Tim Stillman, the Tim Stillman (Little Dutch) column.
– 5- Ocasionally gets inside Arsenal news, interviews players and PHW. The Sun and Goal.com visit there few times to see some content to steal.
– 6- Arseblog doesn’t copy/paste like ROM. They create their content.
– 7- Arsecast, the weekly Arsecast.
– 8- Posts daily. Doesn’t miss a day without writing a fresh Arsecontent.
– 9- The live text commentary and chat on matchdays.
– 10- Writes the name of Spurs as “Sp*rs”
Why I don’t like R.O.M
– 1- Post 4 times a day (a video of Cantona kicking a fan and several copy/paste things about Fabregas mentioning the name of Barcelona on his facebook account and Szczesney Tweeting about Ashley Cole missing a penalty, and an interview of John Terry via The Chelsea FC Blog), but they don’t post anything the rest of the week. Next week Manchester United loses and they write a list of 10 points of how rubbish is Micheal Carrick, why world’s highest goal scorer will never start against a top-six team and how the referee was miserable and Chelsea scoring an offsite goal.)
– 2- Sometimes I wonder whether it’s Goal.com or a Manc blog. Loads of Manchestery City stories. Pictures of Super Mario, Yayo Toure and Carloz Teves.
– 3- Old stories about why Cantona kicked a fan and that John Terry miss.
– 4- Van Persie’s handball against Birmingham City.
– 5- Cristiano Ronaldo.
– 6- Stats, stats, stats. The amount of red cards Paddy Vieira received during his life time.
– 7- Van Persie getting injured.
– 8- Somebody switching from Manchester Red to Manchester Blue
– 9- Will Owen celebrate if he score against Liverpool or Newcastle?
– 10 – Why Aaron Ramsey did turn down to warm the benches of World’s BIGGEST team?
—————-
I vote for the ARSEBLOG
The Empire of the Kop is also awesome.
wel said mate, well said…really.
spot on.
yes arseblog is with 7am kickoff ( it s a american blog writted by this suppose to be yank who know nothing about real footy 😉 )the best arsenal blog out there. arsenal have by far more blog that any other team in the EPL even the world of team sport.
i read sometimes other EPL team blog, some are good but nothing come close to Arseblog or 7 am kickoff
Arseblog is not just my fav. blog, but my fav. website!
Always rational and humurous, and love his arsecast characters (sylvester, arshavin, mick bendtnar, etc)
Hats off to mr blogs!
how can you top a paddy gooner who lives in dub and is as articulate as the morning sun on the green fields of highbury and has the houmor of joyce and the navvy poet and the love of my team , we love honesty above sucsess and we love each other no matter what . we band of brothers all colours all ages we are together , ARSENAL……………………
WELCOME TO MY HOME I AM EBOUE.
Top EBOUE BLOG.
NO.1 ARSEBLOG
EBOUE LOVE ARSEBLOG BECAUSE EBOUE ON ARSEBLOG.
HAHAHAHHAHA
OH MY GOD.I WORSHIP YOU MR. EBOUE.PLEASE DO A FROG DANCE FOR ME.
PLEASE, DO NOT ASK HIM TO DO THE FROG DANCE. IT LASTS FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND THE CHILDREN MUST SLEEP.
Not really fair is it? Need a much bigger list, so many Arsenal blogs are more real than Arseblog for example.
Tom, which ones would you suggest that are not listed?
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Arseblog…. FTW
This is the most cogent, and literate blog dealing with football, and it keeps the game alive for us over here in Americaland.
mr blogs, god bless you and your wonderful irishness. hello, i am arshavin. classic. keep up the great blog.
sickening?
you’d think who and what they are refering to, if anything, would be a tad more sickening.
but hey, who am i to argue with an arsenal (blog) fan.
from – a chelsea fan.
Can I request that Republic of Mancunia is removed from the voting. As a lifelong United fan I would appreciate if this vile individual who sells t-shirts mocking the Heysel stadium disaster on his website, is not chosen to represent our club. I don’t want to discuss sick chants or which fans are better or worse, I just find it offensive that as a Manchester United supporter, this vile hateful blog is representing my club.
You seem very keen to point out that you’re a United supporter.. Let me guess, scouser?
ROM wins hands down! So what if it’s biased, Whats the point in it being a Utd blog if it’s going to be straight down the middle! It’s a place where us Utd fans can get together share views have a rant and all the rest! All the articles are top notch.
You are all quick enough to slag it off but i see enough bitters, rentboy lovers and any other ABU’s on there. If you hate it that much why do u bother reading it!and just remember…your hate makes us stronger!!!
dont vote for ‘republik of mancunia’ they are scum. and i dont say this for no reason. look at this website http://bit.ly/gmkMGl . a website by them is selling that disgusting merchandise mocking the Hillsborough tragedy. Football rivalries should be risen above when there is a matter of life and death, and they clearly dont have basic human compassion or respect. so dont vote for them, they dont deserve it. scum bags
they dont mock hillsborough.. i find it pretty scandalous you would be allowed to come out with comments like that. is there no moderation on here?
can we say that empire of the kop mocks munich? we could and there would be as much truth in it as this comment.. but we don’t need to sink to that level. fancy using the memory of those 96 fans who died to badmouth others is a flippin blog competition! no limit to the depths scousers will sink!
There’s moderation TomP. There are many comments that readers don’t see because they cross the line.
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Arseblog is superb! Well written, with thoughtful opinion. And what a sense of humour the fellah has!!! Absolute brilliance, always!!
Thank you very much for the nomination!
Obviously don’t expect to win, but would be nice to get a few votes for trying something a little different with our (attempt at) tactical analysis.
Thanks to anyone who voted as well =)
ROM
I love Arseblog, great site but I am surprised you missed out other greats like Arsenal Vision and Goonerholic
Thanks for the suggestions!
Cheers,
The Gaffer
Trying to vote for Arseblog, accepted the cookie but got an error message “This poll cannot find nonce”. WTF?
Congrats, Arseblog. You inspire ‘young’ bloggers like me….I know that i’ll be among the nominees someday
Arseblog is rapey like Eboue.JTDIAFS.
Thanks for including us (Arsenal Report) in this competition, even though it’s a popularity contest at its core – the site with the most readers will always win, regardless if they’re the ‘best’ or not. 😉
Just a suggestion: giving out the award only to new blogs would probably get you more balanced results in the future, as most of those who already read ROM, EOTK or Arseblog will pick them by default. If they don’t have their usual options, they will have to really look through the options and decide which one they think is the best one.
I’m surprised no-one has mentioned This Is Anfield yet! Best Liverpool fan site and blog on the web. Their stuff is creative, original and sometimes extremely humorous! Much better than EOTK.
Oh, and if Republic of Mancunia could be disqualified from the voting, it’d really be appreciated. Cheers gaffer.
Has to be EOTK! Well thought out, balanced and creative. The next nearest would be this is anfield but they take themselves way too seriously over there!!!
Liverpool FC forever.
I’m an LFC fan, but it has to be said that the actual quality of the writing on EOTK is pretty poor. Yes, they have a big following, so they’ll win a popularity contest, but they’re nowhere near the “best” Liverpool blog. TIA and Tomkins are better on this list, and plenty more have been missed.
Has to be ROM for me. The people on here critisizing Scott for not BASHING the team, when they are top of the league are deluded. Difference between the Arseblog and ROM is obvious.= The simple difference between the two clubs. United, a club built on the foundations laid out by the babes, and Sir Matt- with great importance put on believing, and supporting the team through thick and thin.Whereas The Arseblog is purely made for bitter Arsenal fans, unhappy with their shit team.
Why does STR need to start bitching, when this current united team is NOT under achieving? Top of the league, and in the champions league final.. Whats there to criticize? Arsenal on the other hand, have simply gone backwards. Have not done anything worth mentioning in the past couple of years, and are just not on the same level as a club like United.
What most fans need to realise is that, Arsenal, Chelsea and certainly City are not on the same level as united. So, I totally understand why STR would post things about your pathetic, fickle fans, especially when winning things are becoming so typical for a club like united. Personally I enjoy hearing what everyone has to moan about, especially after listening to all their early hopes, and predictions. Haha.
Im regular on TIA and write articles for EOTK as well.
Have to say, both very close competitors. Difficult to choose.
But i’ve cast my vote.
Ploughing through all of the above makes it feel a little like intruding into private grief, but just a quick word of thanks to EPL Talk for being included among such giants of football and literature.
… and still managed to screw up the link bit
http://www.salutsunderland.com in case anyone is interested.
I also think Goodplaya (goodplaya.com) is rather well written. I know the list is probably getting too big, but this is perhaps one to consider next year.
Whoever nominated my site, thanks! I happen to think there are a couple sites listed above that are better than Cartilage Free Captain, but it’s awesome that someone thought to put us up for this award. We’re in the “happy just to be nominated” camp.
FulhamsFinest.com should at least get a mention. New but workimg its way up there!
Thanks for the nomination, much appreciated. It’s great to see Chelsea 2D mentioned alongside some of the blogging greats. Not sure I’ll spend too much time crafting an acceptance speech, though. I guess I’m sharing the same thoughts as JT and co. … there’s always next year (bar a mathematical miracle).
Appreciate the nomination.
Thanks for the nomination.
Am I too late to be considered? http://www.chelseadaft.org ??
Yes.
Arseblog is great, very surprised not to see ‘le grove’ on the list, massive readership and great comments section
because le grove is full on whining little bitch
united all the way
Republik of Mancunia is the best
