Fans of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup can rejoice as additional matches in the upcoming round of 32 are coming to the CBS Sports Golazo Network.

The recently-launched free streaming network is the exclusive home of four games set for May 9-10. The featured matchups are as follows:

May 9th

7:00 PM ET: Charlotte FC (MLS) vs Orlando City SC (MLS)
10:30 PT ET: Monterey Bay FC (USL) vs LAFC (MLS)

May 10th

7:00 PM ET: FC Cincinnati (MLS) vs NYCFC (MLS)
10:30 PM ET: LA Galaxy (MLS) vs Seattle Sounders FC (MLS)

In addition to the games themselves, the Golazo Network is featuring Open Cup coverage and analysis on its live studio programs Morning Footy and Box 2 Box. Post-match coverage of the UEFA Champions League semifinals on those days is going to lead into the live Open Cup coverage in the evenings.

The addition of CBS Sports Golazo Network to the Open Cup equation came as a pleasant surprise in round three, as three matches were picked up by the network. After 2022 saw every Open Cup game streamed via ESPN+, 2023 has been a step back for the tournament. US Soccer’s new deal with Turner Sports has seen only select early round games officially streamed via the Bleacher Report App and YouTube channel. This left the remaining games to be streamed by the teams themselves, or not at all.

Future home of the Cup?

Golazo stepping up to add additional officially streamed games has been welcomed by many fans. Some are hoping the platform might be a future full-time landing spot for the tournament. CBS already boasts a robust portfolio of soccer properties, including UEFA Champions/Europa League, NWSL, Serie A, and more. Moving the Open Cup to CBS’s well-received soccer coverage would be a big win for the tournament.

The remaining matches for the round of 32 are split across Bleacher Report (eight games) and US Soccer’s YouTube channel (four games).

The Open Cup, currently in its 108th edition, is the oldest national soccer competition in the United States. Of the remaining field of 32 sides, eight hail from the second division USL Championship. This includes Monterey Bay and 2022 runners-up Sacramento Republic. The remaining 24 clubs are from Major League Soccer, including reigning Open Cup champions Orlando City SC.

CBS Sports Golazo Network is available for free via the CBS Sports App, Pluto TV, CBSSports.com, and is also available via Paramount+.
