Tottenham Hotspur have signed midfielder Erik Lamela from AS Roma.
Lamela, who can play either as a striker or an attacking midfielder – much in the mold of Gareth Bale — is a 21-year-old playmaker who began his career at River Plate where he made 40 appearances before joining AS Roma in 2011. In Italy, Lamela made a total of 67 appearances in all competitions and scored 21 goals.
Born in Argentina, Lamela has been capped four times by Argentina at under-20 level, and three times at the senior level after making his international debut against Paraguay in May, 2011.
Tottenham reportedly paid £25million for Erik Lamela.
