Inter Miami continues shaping its roster for the final stretch of the season. In this case, the team led by Lionel Messi has acquired an international roster slot from another Major League Soccer (MLS) club for a player coming from outside the United States.
According to an official club statement, Inter Miami CF announced today that it has acquired a 2025 International Roster Slot from Toronto FC in exchange for $175,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM).
It’s no secret that Javier Mascherano’s squad is looking to bring in reinforcements. The head coach of the South Florida team has been intent on strengthening the roster ahead of what promises to be a demanding season finale.
One of the most talked-about names has been Gonzalo Piovi, currently a defender for Cruz Azul in Liga MX. With this newly acquired slot, Inter Miami could now move forward in its pursuit of the Argentine defender to join The Herons.

This year, also, Inter Miami strategically reinforced their squad for an intense campaign on both domestic and international fronts. Notable arrivals include Telasco Segovia, a dynamic Venezuelan midfielder transferred from Casa Pia in Portugal, securing a long-term contract through 2029. Segovia brings valuable versatility and youthful energy to the midfield.
