Monaco host Arsenal in the second leg of their last 16 tie and will attempt to consolidate on their 3-1 win from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium.

Leonardo Jardim’s side are in fine form with four wins and a draw from their last five games but are coming into this match as underdogs given Arsenal’s equally impressive run of form.

However, the French side will be confident that they can maintain the two goal advantage from three weeks ago and qualify for the quarter finals for the first time since 2004.

Arsenal, meanwhile, need to score at least three goals to qualify which is really going to be a difficult task as Monaco have conceded just thrice in seven Champions League matches. However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his side can do the unthinkable and progress to the quarter-finals.

The chances of progressing are slim here but the Gunners know how to surprise one in second leg matches in Europe such as against AX Milan and Bayern Munich a couple of seasons ago.

Team News

Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov could return to the starting XI after starting from the bench in their last two matches.

Tiemoué Bakayoko, Andrea Raggi and Lacina Traore are sidelined due to injury but Jérémy Toulalan, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco have recovered from their various injuries and are in contention to start the game on Tuesday.

For Arsenal, Mathieu Debuchy, Abou Diaby, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta are definitely out while Gabriel Paulista, Jack Wilshere and Thomas Rosicky are doubts.

Midfielder Santi Carzola and right back Hector Bellerin sat out of the game against West Ham but they could replace Theo Walcott and Calum Chambers respectively.
