The German football federation (DFB) have unveiled official photographs of Germany’s World Cup 2014 home shirt designed by adidas.
The German players along with the DFB and adidas unveiled the new Germany kit in Munich today. As part of the unveiling, Thomas Mueller and Julian Draxler took a bus through Munich (see photo below), while Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Schalke’s Julian Draxler wore the kit in front of the photographers on a pitch.
The most striking difference about this German kit is that the national team will be wearing all white. Germany played in all white in the 1974 World Cup against Poland, so this isn’t the first time. However, Germany are famous for their white shirt and black shirt combination.
According to adidas, the three different shades of red on the front of the shirt represent the three times Germany has won the World Cup: 1954, 1974 and 1990.
Germany will wear the new white kit for the first time on Friday in the friendly against Italy in Milan.
