Match Day Five - Serie A Italian Calcio

Serie A Matchday five fixtures

Welcome to the Derby della Madonnina.

I was alerted to Mark Meadow’s article, Friday afternoon question: Which is the best derby? this afternoon of course and it reminds of how wild things get at the San Siro when these clubs meet.

This year’s seasonal battle will inevitably provide Italian football fans even more memorable moments with more excellent photography.

Images of Inter’s Marco Materazzi and AC Milan’s Rui Costa surrounded by burning flares tells a story of years past.  All the drama, all the excitement, and all those season ticket holders making for one huge party or worse, one huge ruckus.  Just ask Nélson de Jesus Silva better known as Dida how dangerous things can get.  The A.C. Milan keeper had to keep ever watchful when opposing fan sentiments boil over. Luckily for Dida he is no longer in the starting XI, lucky to for the Rossoneri.
