Martin O'Neill Says Sunderland Could Be Top 6 EPL Club If They Had Better Players: The Nightly EPL

There’s a British word that beautifully sums up a lot of the Premier League stories tonight — rubbish.

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill came out on Friday and said that his team could be a top six Premier League club if they had better players. I don’t know about you, but I think every single person who manages a team outside of the top six in the Premier League could possibly say the same thing, but they don’t because it would sound rubbish — just like Martin O’Neill. Sorry, Sunderland supporters.

More rubbish tonight as Sir Alex Ferguson says he was signing autographs and never saw Rafa Benitez prior to the kick-off between United and Chelsea in the FA Cup match last Sunday. Rubbish! Every manager goes out of his way to shake the opposite team’s manager before a match. You can’t tell me that Fergie didn’t see Benitez!

More rubbish on Friday after Fergie says that he may not let Rio Ferdinand join the England team next week after the player was called up to the senior squad by Roy Hodgson. It’s not Ferguson’s responsibility or duty to decide whether one of his players can play for a national team or not. Fergie shouldn’t get in the way.
