As in every release, player ratings are one of the most talked-about aspects among fans, and this year is no exception. Some big-name stars may not receive the overall scores many were expecting.
According to experts from the specialized outlet Givemesports, for the 2026 edition, the highest ratings — 91 — will go to Kylian Mbappé and Rodri, which seems fitting given Mbappé’s role as Real Madrid’s main star and Rodri’s status as the reigning Ballon d’Or winner. Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will also share the top spot with the same rating.
Just below them, with an overall of 90, are Erling Haaland, Alisson, Harry Kane, and Vinicius Jr. Meanwhile, players rated at 89 include Ousmane Dembélé, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Lautaro Martínez, and Jude Bellingham.
Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi miss the top three ratings
One of the biggest surprises in the experts’ predictions is the absence of Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi from the highest-rated players. Yamal, the young Barcelona and Spain national team star, is predicted to have an 88 rating — a number that many expect will rise to the very top in the near future.

As for the Argentine legend, Messi is expected to have an overall rating of 87, placing him alongside names like Declan Rice, Bruno Fernandes, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Thibaut Courtois, and Federico Valverde.
It’s worth noting that these are not the official EA FC 26 ratings. The video game will be officially released on September 26, and these figures are simply projections made by industry experts.
