Bikey red carded

Thought I’d switch gears to report news outside Italy today and what could be bigger than the two semi-finals of the ANC yesterday.

Ghana v. Cameroon
Andre Bikey will miss the African Nations Cup final. The Lion’s player was sent off for pushing to ground a medical assistant in the dying seconds of Cameroon’s semi-final victory over Ghana.Four-time winners Cameroon, who beat hosts Ghana 1-0, will now play Egypt in Sunday’s final in Accra. Current holders Egypt finished off Ivory Coast in the other semi-final by a score of 4-1. The Pharaohs have looked lethal thus far scoring 14 goals and conceding 5 over 5 matches. Egypt have the added advantage of already tasting victory over their upcoming opponents with an opening win of 4-2 in Group C action.

Note: Egypt, Cameroon and Ivory Coast were all part of the same qualifying group leading up to World Cup 2006.
