Lamine Yamal has emerged as one of the breakout stars of the 2024-25 season, playing a key role in FC Barcelona’s successful campaign. Following the club’s La Liga title-clinching victory, Barca legend Luis Suarez delivered an important message to the 17-year-old phenom.

Barcelona’s thrilling 4-3 win over Real Madrid last weekend—which included a goal from Yamal—set the stage for their title push. Needing three points against Espanyol to officially secure the league crown, the Blaugrana delivered once again, with Yamal playing a decisive role.

On Thursday, during Matchday 36, Yamal broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute with a stunning strike into the top corner. Barcelona went on to win 2-0, sealing the La Liga title. Shortly after, the teenage sensation shared a post on Instagram featuring clips from the match, captioned: “BORN FOR THIS.”

Among the many messages of praise was one from Suárez, who commented directly on Yamal’s post: “Congratulations, champ! What you’re doing is incredible… Keep it up to win, win, and win.”

Now with Inter Miami, Suarez joined Lionel Messi in congratulating Barcelona for the league title, underscoring the enduring bond between club legends and the new generation. While Messi celebrated the team, Suarez singled out Yamal for special recognition—highlighting his faith in the youngster’s future.

Suárez, who spent six seasons at Barcelona from 2014 to 2020 and became the club’s third all-time top scorer with 195 goals in 283 appearances, remains emotionally tied to the club despite his abrupt exit. In a recent interview with Argentine YouTuber DavoXeneize, the Uruguayan icon praised Hansi Flick’s work and the team’s rising stars.

I love today’s Barcelona. It has a rhythm, a style of play… an effectiveness that’s impressive. The level is very high. And there are two players who, in my opinion, stand above the rest: Pedri and Lamine Yamal. They’re the ones who make the difference,” Suarez stated, highlighting the two Spanish stars.

He also emphasized the unique talent of the duo compared to the rest of the squad: “Then you have other players like Raphinha and Lewandowski, who step up in key moments. But I’m seeing a level from Pedri that truly surprises me—he’s playing at an incredibly high level. And Yamal, considering how young he is, is remarkable.”
