Tottenham have announced the signing of midfielder Dele Alli from MK Dons.

The 18-year-old has joined on a five-and-a-half-year contract, and been loaned back to the League One club for the rest of the season.

Alli has scored 12 goals in 27 league appearances this term, and started all four matches in the Dons' Capital One Cup run which included a shock 4-0 second-round win over Manchester United in August.

He has been capped 15 times in total for England at under-17, 18 and 19 levels, and becomes Spurs' only acquisition of the winter transfer window.

Dele Alli said:

“It’s a massive club and I’m really happy to be here.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting all the lads and getting to work with the manager. It’s a dream come true.

“I’d love to play for Spurs & at WHL. It won’t be easy & I’ll have to fight for my place in the team but I’ll work hard to do that.”
