As Christian Pulisic continues to thrive at Milan, another familiar face from the U.S. Men’s National Team could soon be joining him at San Siro. A major transfer decision is looming, one that could bring two of the United States’ brightest soccer talents together in Italy, offering a fresh start for a player in need of rejuvenation.
Since his move from Chelsea in 2023, Pulisic has rediscovered his best form at AC Milan. Injuries plagued his four-year spell in the Premier League, but in Italy, the attacker has flourished. With 32 goals in 100 appearances across two seasons, he has become a vital part of the Rossoneri’s attacking force.
This kind of resurgence hasn’t gone unnoticed. It’s especially significant for the USMNT, who benefit immensely from having its top stars competing at a high level in Europe. Now, another American international is hoping to replicate that trajectory—and the Rossoneri might just be the perfect destination.
Familiar name on Allegri’s radar
Weston McKennie, currently under contract with Juventus, is the player in question. The 26-year-old midfielder is reportedly on his way out of Turin as the Bianconeri look to reshape their midfield and resolve internal issues. McKennie’s current deal expires in 2026, but talks over a new contract have stalled.
As BeIN Sports and other outlets report, the key sticking point is a dispute over agent commissions. McKennie’s representatives are said to be demanding a sizeable fee, and Juventus are unwilling to meet those terms. With the standoff ongoing and the 26-year-old entering the final year of his deal, the club is keen to sell this summer rather than lose him for free in 2026.
Milan is among the clubs monitoring the situation, and with Massimiliano Allegri now at the helm, a reunion could be on the cards. Allegri coached the American midfielder during his stint at Juventus from 2021 to 2024 and is believed to be an admirer of the midfielder’s versatility and work ethic.
Pulisic and McKennie: Potential reunion
Should the transfer materialize, McKennie would become the third American at Milan, joining Pulisic and possibly Yunus Musah—though the latter is rumored to be on his way out. The move could provide McKennie with a much-needed reset after a mixed spell in Turin, where he was often played out of position and faced managerial instability.

Interestingly, the pair have already discussed Allegri’s return at San Siro. In a recent interview, Pulisic shared: “I spoke with Weston recently, and he only had positive things to say. He told me Allegri is a fun guy, loves to joke around, very passionate… I told him: ‘Like all Italians, right?’”
